Gamepan Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Gamepan (“the App”, “Gamepan”) handles your information. Gamepan is developed and published by Devon Zimmer (“we”, “us”, “our”, or “the Developer”), an individual developer.

The short version

Gamepan is a local-first desktop application. Your games, tabs, modules, notes, images, settings, and everything else you create live only on your own computer. We do not operate any servers that receive your data, we do not have user accounts, and we do not collect analytics, telemetry, usage statistics, advertising identifiers, or crash reports. We cannot see your data, because it never leaves your device except when you choose to share it on your own local network (see “LAN sharing” below).

1. Information we collect

We do not collect any personal information. Gamepan has no account system, no login, no sign-up, and no background reporting. Specifically, the App does not collect, transmit, or store on our systems:

  • Your name, email address, or contact details;
  • Your IP address or device identifiers;
  • Analytics, telemetry, or usage/behavioral data;
  • Crash logs or diagnostic reports;
  • Advertising or tracking identifiers.

2. Information the App stores on your device

Everything you create in Gamepan is stored locally on your computer as ordinary files, inside your operating system’s per-user application-data folder (in a folder named Gamepan). This includes your games, tabs, modules and their contents (notes, checklists, tables, images you add, builds, stats, and so on), your app settings and custom themes, and automatic local backups (version history).

This data stays on your device, under your control. You can view, export, back up, or permanently delete it at any time from within the App (Settings → Data) or by deleting the data folder. We have no access to it.

3. LAN (local-network) sharing

Gamepan includes an optional “share on your local network” feature that is off by default. When you explicitly start a share:

  • The App runs a small view-only web server that is reachable only over your local network (Wi-Fi/LAN). It is not exposed to the internet, and no data is sent to us or to any third party.
  • Only the specific modules you choose are shared, and only for as long as the share is active. Sessions use unguessable links and can auto-stop when idle.
  • Anyone on your local network who has the link can view the shared modules. You should only share on networks you trust. You are responsible for what you choose to share. This mirrors the in-app safety notice you must accept before sharing.

We do not receive, log, or process anything shared through this feature.

4. Steam and third-party platforms

Gamepan is distributed through Steam. When you buy or download the App, your purchase and account are handled entirely by Valve Corporation under Valve’s own Privacy Policy and the Steam Subscriber Agreement. We do not receive your personal information from Steam.

Optionally, Gamepan can read locally cached Steam library artwork (cover images) that Steam has already saved on your computer, in order to display covers for your games. This reading happens entirely on your device; the images are not uploaded anywhere. Gamepan also offers an optional feature to detect whether a game you’ve configured is currently running, by checking the names of processes on your own computer. This detection is local and is not transmitted.

If you add external links or paste images into your content, and you then click those links, your operating system opens them in your own web browser; that activity is governed by the privacy policies of those third-party sites, not by Gamepan.

5. Children’s privacy

Gamepan is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, because we do not collect personal information at all.

6. Your privacy rights (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and others)

Because Gamepan does not collect or process your personal information on any server we control, we hold no personal data about you to access, correct, export, or delete. All of your Gamepan data resides on your own device and is directly manageable by you at any time.

To the extent any data-protection law applies to us as a developer, you may contact us using the details below with any question or request, and we will respond as required by applicable law.

7. Data security

Your data’s security is tied to your own device. We recommend keeping your operating system and account secure, and only using LAN sharing on trusted networks. Gamepan writes saves atomically and keeps local version-history backups to help protect against file corruption or accidental loss, but you are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important data.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and make the new version available with the App. Material changes will be highlighted where practical.
